Neptec Technologies develops and manufactures innovative 3D perception products (LiDAR) for the Robotics and Autonomous Systems market. With multidisciplinary teams and extensive R&D, manufacturing and commercialization expertise, we focus on developing products that solve real-world customer problems in terrestrial markets.


Reporting to the Quality Lead, the QA Specialist will ensure incoming mechanical and electrical components meet Neptec quality requirements.  The QA specialist will liaise with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain Management and external suppliers to ensure that material and products perform to manufacturer’s specifications and Neptec quality requirements. The QA specialist will develop Neptec ISO-9001:2015 processes and drive continuous improvements within the Quality Management System.


Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • » Perform mechanical and electrical component and assembly inspections for receiving, in-process and final assembly,
  • »  Review and approval of mechanical and electrical drawings, documents and ECNs,
  • »  Manage and lead material non-conformance investigations,
  • »  Support customer returns (RMA) and Failure Investigations,
  • »  Conduct vendor source inspections and audits,
  • »  Test witnessing for Acceptance and Formal Qualification Tests,
  • »  Verification of ESD requirements,
  • »  Maintains key performance indicators to drive improvements,
  • »  Contributes to the development and enhancement of standard operation procedures and processes,
  • »  Demonstrated experience with quality management systems in accordance with relevant industry standards: ISO-9001, AS9100, SABRe,
  • »  Demonstrated success in quality engineering and problem solving,
  • »  Working level knowledge of IPC Workmanship standards for PWBs, soldering, surface mount technology, cables and harnesses, ESD and conformal coating,
  • »  May occasionally be required to lift objects up to 30 lbs.


  • »  A post-secondary degree/diploma and/or professional designation is considered an asset,
  • »  3-5 year’s related experience,
  • »  Experience working with pcMRP or other ERP/MRP software,
  • »  Experience working with electrical, optical and mechanical suppliers,
  • »  Must be able to obtain a Federal Government Security Clearance (Minimum Enhanced Reliability),
  • »  Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks,
  • »  Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint,
  • »  Strong knowledge of electronic and opto-electronic manufacturing flows and processes,
  • »  Be self-directed, proactive, motivated, and goal orientated,
  • »  Ability to function in a team based environment and manage multiple priorities,
  • »  Effective interpersonal skills, both written and verbal,
  • »  Highly organized and detail orientated.
