PRODUCTION TEST TECHNICIAN / TECHNOLOGIST

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • » Pre-test harnesses, motors, lasers, CCAs, sub-assemblies and other components as necessary prior to system integration.
  • » Tests and troubleshoot assemblies and/or final systems.
  • » Performs rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing.
  • » Perform root cause analysis on tested units.
  • » Support Engineering in the development of test specifications, methods and procedures
  • » Prepares technical reports for non-conforming material, assemblies and systems
  • » Assists in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.
  • » Collects, documents, and stores test results.
  • » Support manufacturing test improvements in the areas of test capacity, accuracy and efficiency
  • » Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed to meet shipment schedules.
  • » Update shop travelers and MRP as required

SKILLS


  • » Knowledge of the principles of electronic theory and engineering methods and procedures.
  • » Knowledge of the principles of electro optics systems.
  • » Experience with remote instrument control methods: USB, GPIB, RS232 and Ethernet.
  • » Experience with electronic test equipment: oscilloscopes, DMM’s, Function generators, spectrum analyzers etc..
  • » Experience with thermal test chambers
  • » A demonstrated ability in reading / understanding technical manuals and reports.
  • » Experience with electrical/mechanical schematics and drawings.
  • » Knowledge of computers, peripheral equipment, and related devices.
  • » Working knowledge/skills using Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, and VISIO.
  • » Root cause analysis and continuous improvement principles
  • » Strong communication skills (verbal and in-writing).
  • » Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • » Ability to work with engineers to develop and document set ups and test procedures.
  • » Acute attention to detail.
  • » Familiar with a recognized quality system I.e. ISO9001, AS9100.

Software/Computer Skills and Required Skill Level: 

  • » Windows Intermediate,
  • » Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Intermediate.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS


  • » Minimum of three years relevant work experience,
  • » Completion of formal training in Electronic / Electronic Engineering Technician or Technologist, program.
