Production Material Controller

Neptec Technologies develops and manufactures innovative 3D perception products (LiDAR) for the Robotics and Autonomous Systems market. With multidisciplinary teams and extensive R&D, manufacturing and commercialization expertise, we focus on developing products that solve real-world customer problems in terrestrial markets.


Candidate will be responsible to plan, prepare, issue and control production schedules and internal material flow. Ensure the efficient movement of raw materials, sub-assemblies, services, consumable supplies, and finished goods through production and inventory processes. Schedule and manage material supply and demands, generate buy actions, and issue production work orders based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements. Management of the stock room.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Scheduling and Planning

  • » Develop Master Production Schedules (MPS)
  • » Resolve planning and build scheduling issues
  • » Identify material shortages
  • » Ability to review diverse planning data in order to establish the basis for reliable forecasts

Material Resource Planning

  • » Generate work orders and issue material against demand
  • » Manage the flow of material for prototype and production builds
  • » Manage the flow of material for rework
  • » Process material transactions through MRP to achieve build requirements
  • » Ensure data integrity in MRP
  • » Monitor WIP and inventories and assure material discrepancies are resolved
  • » Report on build status and material shortages
  • » Analyzes inventory levels and make recommendations for policy improvements
  • » Maintains appropriate manufacturing and quality records and reports
  • » Work directly with FG shipper(s) to assure that goods are shipped and issued on a timely and accurate manner

Continuous Improvement

  • » Maintains key performance indicators to drive improvements within the supply chain
  • » Participates in identifying and implementing MRP system enhancements, in order to maximize efficiencies
  • » Contributes to the development and enhancement of standard operation procedures and processes


  • » Over 5 years’ experience in production control
  • » A post-secondary degree/diploma and/or professional designation is considered an asset
  • » Experience working with pcMRP or other ERP/MRP software
  • » Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • » Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint.
  • » Ability to predict potential supply problems and proactively address.
  • » Strong knowledge electronic and opto-electronic manufacturing flows and processes.
  • » Be self-directed, proactive, motivated, and goal orientated.
  • » Ability to function in a team based environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • » Effective interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • » Highly organized and detail orientated

Specialized Training:

  • » Knowledge of SCM, and MRP software.
  • » Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) an asset.
