DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • » Assemble precision high-reliability optical/electro/mechanical products.
  • » Perform complex and advanced assembly of products according to established specifications and instructions.
  • » Perform high precision calibration and advanced adjustments using testing instruments.
  • » Support the development of assembly procedures for the production of quality products.
  • » Perform final checks and adjustments for any defects to ensure high quality products.
  • » Perform repair, rework, re-assembly of products as required.
  • » Support Engineering in the development of assembly specifications, methods and procedures.
  • » Interpret and follow work instructions, assembly procedures, and drawings.
  • » Assist in prototypes build, solder printed wiring assemblies, and build cable harnesses.
  • » Collaborate with engineers on troubleshooting assembly and workmanship related issues.
  • » Performs rework and repair of Circuit Card Assemblies.
  • » Prepares technical reports for non-conforming material, assemblies and systems.
  • » Collect, document, and store results during the assembly and calibration process.
  • » Update shop travelers and MRP as required.

SKILLS


  • » Repetitive assembly operations, grasping, sitting, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing and carrying are generally required to perform the function of this position.
  • » Soldering and assembly to IPC standards (J-STD-001 & IPC-610).
  • » Rework & Repair IPC-7711/21.
  • » Cable and Wire Harness assembly IPC-WHMA-A-620.
  • » Training and experience in operation of multi-meters, crimping tools, wire strippers, etc.
  • » Training and experience in using mechanical hand tools.
  • » Precision hand assembly, including under a microscope.
  • » A demonstrated ability in reading / understanding technical manuals and reports.
  • » Communication skills (verbal and in-writing).
  • » Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • » Ability to work with engineers to develop and document set ups and assembly procedures.
  • » Acute attention to detail.
  • » Familiar with a recognized quality system I.e. ISO9001 / AS9100.
  • » Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Intermediate

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS


  • » Minimum of three years relevant work experience.
  • » Formalized soldering training, certification in all facets of soldering of electronic components and PCBs to IPC standards required.
  • » Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Specialized Training:

  • » Able to obtain a Federal Government Security Clearance (minimum Enhanced level – Mandatory).
