Neptec specializes in the development, integration and support of intelligent 3D machine vision and robotic systems in extreme operating environments. Our scientists and engineers design innovative sensors and 3D software algorithms, and integrate unique high-performance machine vision and robotics systems for clients in the Space, Defence & Aerospace, and Security Markets, as well as for applications in Mining, Oil & Gas, and Metrology.

The company has been a U.S National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) prime contractor since 1995. Neptec personnel have logged over 30,000 hours of mission support for the Space Shuttle and International Space Station. Systems developed by Neptec have flown on over 40 Shuttle missions and have won wide recognition for their performance, innovation and quality. Neptec achieved the highest possible contractor performance rating from NASA two years in a row; and in 2011, was recognized with the George M. Low Award, NASA’s premier award for quality and performance. This marked the first time a non-American company has won since the award was established in 1985.
Neptec operates research and engineering facilities in Ottawa, Ontario and Houston, Texas and is ISO 9001 certified. The company has approximately 100 employees, the majority of which are technical and have broad cross-functional expertise in advanced sensors, 3D algorithms, software development, systems engineering, systems integration, project management, and manufacturing. Customers include NASA, the Canadian Space Agency, the Canadian Department of National Defence, DARPA (Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency), the Naval Research Laboratory, as well as leading Space, Aerospace, Mining, and Oil & Gas companies.
Neptec is privately held and operates as Neptec Design Group Ltd. which develops innovative technologies and systems for the Space market, and Neptec Technologies Corp., an affiliated company, that focuses on the commercialization of Neptec’s technology in terrestrial markets.
